This film is based on interviews conducted with members of the legendary British rock band The Rolling Stones on the eve of their 50th anniversary. We were living in Brighton, England at the time; as you can imagine, 50 years of The Stones was a VERY big deal. We attended a live premiere of the film, which was released simultaneously to 250 cinemas across the UK. Quite the event, including live Red Carpet interviews with the boys at the London premiere.

Filmmaker Brett Morgen examines the history of the Rolling Stones, from their London debut in 1962 as a group of blues-obsessed bad boys to their status as the “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band.”

This FREE version of the film has hard-coded subtitles that can not be disabled. However, video and audio quality is not affected.

In 1972, the Rolling Stones, facing tax and management problems, leave the UK and rent a villa on the coast of France. They hole up in the house for months recording “Exile on Main Street,” their most reviled, then revered album ever.

Along with archival footage, interviews with Keith Richards and Mick Jagger look back on the steady supply of drugs and alcohol that fueled their sessions, while musicians like Jack White and Liz Phair recall their own memories of the hugely influential album.
